NoTraffic Expands to Canada in collaboration with Rogers Communications

Beginning with a deployment in British Columbia, NoTraffic will offer Canadian traffic agencies its IoT Platform for Urban Mobility

NoTraffic, the award-winning IoT Platform for Urban Mobility, has announced its expansion into Canada, teaming-up with Rogers Communications to offer Urban Mobility solutions to Canadian traffic agencies. The first deployment of NoTraffic was in Vancouver across multiple locations (intersections and roundabouts), working with Rogers and The University of British Columbia (UBC), to improve road coordination, safety and traffic equity. The NoTraffic Platform leverages computer vision, cloud computing, V2X connectivity, and AI technologies, connecting intersections to the grid, to improve safety and sustainability while reducing congestion.

“With its history of embracing innovation, Canada is a priority market for NoTraffic and the ideal location for the next step of our expansion,” said Tal Kreisler, Co-Founder & CEO of NoTraffic. “We are so excited to practically showcase the benefits of our system and the improved quality of life it can provide to citizens and communities alike.”

The City of Vancouver for example, has pledged to reduce its carbon footprint by 50% by 2030, while aiming to have two thirds of trips by active transportation and transit[1]. Collaborating with the private sector and harnessing innovation are pivotal to the City’s efforts. The NoTraffic Platform reinvents how cities manage their urban transportation networks, empowering city officials and traffic engineers to improve sustainability and traffic efficiency. Additional safety and mobility products are also central to NoTraffic offering, including emergency vehicle pre-emption, public transport prioritization, safety insights, and more.

Most recently, NoTraffic was named to the TIME100 Most Influential Companies of 2022[2], highlighting the extraordinary impact these companies are making around the world. In March, NVIDIA CEO, Jensen Huang, featured[3] NoTraffic Platform during his keynote at the company’s annual conference, as one of the leading AI technologies making a meaningful impact on our planet, to improve safety and sustainability at our communities.

The collaboration comes as the latest step in NoTraffic’s relationship with Rogers, which began in 2021, followed by the deployment at the AURORA Connected Vehicle Testbed at UBC.

“NoTraffic’s mission is to lay the digital foundation for urban mobility, by transforming low-tech infrastructure to support modern demands and driver expectations,” said Kreisler. “It is an unprecedented change that will, ultimately, make the world a better place to live thanks to reduced CO2 emissions, increased safety, improved traffic efficiency, and the enablement of various advanced mobility services.”

NoTraffic works with leading telecommunications companies such as Rogers, deploying efficient and affordable technology, bringing order and always-on connectivity that works with existing infrastructure. The NoTraffic Platform is currently deployed in dozens of locations across North America—including British Columbia, Phoenix, Tucson, Palo Alto, Texas, Pennsylvania, and others—serving millions of drivers per day.
